The series was designed in the 1970s by Hans Due, who was inspired by contemporary industrial lamps. These lamps were made in a simple design with the aim of being functional. Hans Due thought that with some aesthetic improvements, the lamp could also find its place in private homes. And so Formel was born.
Now Formel has been resurrected thanks to Spring Copenhagen's relaunch of the series. And the series can spread its light again.
