The simple beauty of a formula
In the world of science, a formula should be as simple as possible, and you should be able to change the variables without changing the formula’s validity.
With this in mind it’s easy to see why the Hans Due lamp series was named formula in Danish: Formel.
It’s hard to imagine a lamp with a simpler design than Formel, and it’s equally hard to imagine a lamp that can fit into several different places without it losing its beauty. With Formel, Hans Due has quite simply got it spot on.
A modern design from the 1970s
Hans Due created his lamp series back in the 1970s. The series has long been out of production, but now we have relaunched it so that it can once again find a place in the modern home.
And although the lamp was created in a completely different time, it could easily have been designed today. Only one small detail reveals its age: At the top, we have preserved the original air holes that were supposed to provide air for the incandescent bulbs of the time.
A charming detail that ties our relaunch together with the original.
