Sébastien El Idrissi.
Spring Copenhagen and the Swiss designer Sébastien El Idrissi seem almost like the perfectmatch. Both inspired by our everyday life. Its beauty – and its unsolved problems.
The industrial designer works with all kinds of materials, but in the design process, cardboard andpaper are his go-to materials. With these, he’s able to test the design on a full scale before decidingon the final prototype.
Asking Sébastien Idrissi about his design process he compares it with the preparation of fruit orvegetables. First, the idea appears. Followed by a process of peeling off all theunnecessary aspects. Like peeling an orange. Until he ends up with the core.
And hopefully, that part turns into great design. For Sébastien, that means something that becomesan archetype in a way, that people forget that the object once started as a simple design project.
