J.I. Christoffersen.
Jens Ivan Christoffersen preferred to work in wood. This was partly due to his training as a carpenter and civil engineer, but also because wood has its very own beautiful structure and is naturally well suited for shaping large and small objects. Wood became J. I. Christoffersen's metier - from unique toys to complete house renovations, and getting a defective old wooden glider flying again. For J. I. Christoffersen, good design was something that appealed to the eye - but which also had a function in everyday life. The design had to be simple, classic and above all really well-made. He used to say that good design is like the scent of a flower. And a fragrant flower is born when the design fulfils a purpose, is well-made and works well with other designs.
