Eva Stæhr-Nielsen
Eva Stæhr-Nielsen's style was innovative with rustic materials and shiny glazes. She became world famous for feminine, robust and functionalist craftsmanship. Her works are mainly characterised by organic shapes that encourage us to touch them and explore them as the small works of art that they are. The works are not only functional, they are also beautiful in their own right and need no explanation to justify their existence. They are enough in themselves. Eva Stæhr-Nielsen's works are a tribute to modernity, and as a ceramicist she managed - together with her longtime partner at Saxbo, Nathalie Krebs - to make Danish design history. Some of her most well-known and characteristic works are her jug Spaltekanden and her Teapot, which were relaunched in 2018 by Spring Copenhagen.
