The Pepper Bird is a Danish, patent-protected quality pepper mill crafted in mahogany, ash, maple and walnut.
Created by the self-taught Danish designer Sven-Erik Tonn-Petersen (Tonn-P), it uses the Danish-patented Tucan Pepper Grinder as grinding mechanism.
The Pepper Bird and Salt Penguin go well together, and these two design icons have formed an inseparable pair since the late 1950s.
It makes a perfect wedding gift or birthday present for playful couples with an eye for Danish design icons.
The Pepper Bird: A favourite pepper mill from the 1950s
The Pepper Bird was first produced in the late 1950s and quickly became a favourite in Danish homes. The Pepper Bird brings the table to life, is amusing, decorative and a delight for kids.After some years of great popularity the Pepper Bird gradually disappeared.
Still, it had already become a design icon and in later years many design aficionados eagerly sought out original Pepper Birds at flea markets and antique stores. So when Spring Copenhagen relaunched it in 2015, the Pepper Bird rapidly became a neo-classic.
The Pepper Bird is a recognisable everyday icon that once again brings life and joy to Danish dining rooms.
